German black metal band Negator was formed in the city of Hamburg in 2003, and was initially comprised of vocalist Nachtgarm (real name Steve Marbs), guitarist Trolfbert (aka Niklaus Jung), bassist Berthelm (Dirk Farber), and drummer Tramheim (Martyn Maat) at the time that their first album -- 2004's Old Black -- was released. Second guitarist Unholz (Malte Gebauer) was added for the following year's Die Eisernen Verse, which, along with its predecessor, sought to emulated the dauntingly extreme Scandinavian school of black metal. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
