Gorerotted turned heads in the England for its obscene, extreme style of gore metal. Influenced by genre-defining bands such as Carcass and Macabre, Gorerotted built its reputation in the metal underground with its 1998 demo, Her Gash Did I Slash, before unleashing its much-discussed debut, Mutilated in Minutes, which Relapse released in 2002. The European metal press championed the album, with Terrorizer magazine naming it the seventh best "gore" album of all time.
